Icelandic Investors have completed the acquisition of the rotomolding activities of Berry Global Inc., which is a Fortune 500 global manufacturer and marketer of plastic packaging products, which includes the acquisition of Sæplast and Tempra, established companies with successful operational history in Iceland. Through the acquisition the largest rotomolding entity in Europe will be established, under the name of Rotovia.
BBA//Fjeldco was legal advisor to Rotovia hf., which is owned by the Icelandic private equity funds Freyja and SÍA IV and key management of the rotomolding plastics operations and provided legal advice with respect to the share purchase agreement as well as financing.
The annual turnover of the Rotovia entities is around EUR 134 million and Rotovia will have a strong global footprint through a wide sales office network and serve a diversified customer base across several end-industries, with specific focus on the food segment. Rotovia will become a leading international player in the fragmented rotational molding plastic product market, with a diversified manufacturing base of ten manufacturing sites across seven countries in Europe and Canada and employing around 800 people.
